The Phoenix Fund will be re-launched by our new Theatrical Patron, Ben Roberts, in February.   With the new Chatsworth Centre comprising two distinct parts – The Duchess Theatre and The Community Suite – it has been agreed to undertake the re-build in two distinctive stages:

Stage 1 will see the building of the Community Suite which, when built, will act as a focal point for the remainder of the re-building project.  This will enable the plans for the new Chatsworth Centre to be displayed and also act as a venue where access for the disabled will be a priority.  Schools and other organisations will be encouraged to hold “in town” art exhibitions that can be open to the public during the daytime.  The new Suite will have both toilet and catering facilities. When the theatre is built the Suite will act as both a foyer and an exhibition/ meeting area.

Stage 2 will be the finishing of the work to complete the Duchess Theatre.  Applications for funding are currently being pursued.
