HUGE BOOST FOR PHOENIX FUND AUCTION
YOUR CHANCE TO BID FOR PRIVATE DINNER WITH EASTENDERS STARS

Two lucky people will be getting the opportunity to enjoy a private dinner with EastEnders stars John Bardon (Dot’s long suffering husband Jim Brennan) and his wife together with Derek Martin (Charlie Slater) when they bid for an Albert Square street sign containing all the signatures of the current cast.

This once in a lifetime dining opportunity for two EastEnders fans, that will be held in London, and is all thanks to an extremely generous offer from John Bardon who has collected the signatures himself and come up with the idea of a private dinner.

Both John Bardon and Derek Martin are members of the Grand Order of Water Rats and heard about the Phoenix Fund’s auction through Past King Rat Keith Simmons who is actively helping the fund with both the auction and the charity variety show.

Keith told the Trader: “As soon as I mentioned the Phoenix Fund to rebuild the theatre in Long Eaton to John Bardon he said he would like to help and came up with this marvellous offer.  Both John and Derek Martin are great fun and whoever successfully bids for the Albert Square sign will be invited to come to London to enjoy a super dinner with them.  This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity for an EastEnders fan and I hope John and Derek’s generosity will raise a lot of money for the Phoenix Fund.”

The auction’s organiser, Graham Smith – Consultant Director of Fundraising for the Phoenix Fund – told the Trader: “We are getting a lot of interest in the auction that is going to be held at Royal Crown Derby on Monday 16th October with Eric Knowles as our guest auctioneer.  Every week we get another exciting lot for our auction and this week is no exception.  I would urge any EastEnders fans to contact me as soon as possible to get their tickets or to enquire for more information.  They can do that by calling me on 0115 849 3520.”
